Affirmative Asylum
Affirmative Asylum is an application submitted to the United States Government for protection from persecution by race, religion, nationality, political opinion or membership of a particular social group. It must be submitted within the first year of entering the country. If approved, it grants legal status, access to Work Permit and the possibility of applying for permanent residence one year later. During the process, the case can be reviewed by immigration authorities.

Who can apply?
- Any immigrant who feels vulnerable to persecution because of their race, religion, nationality, political opinion or belonging to a particular social group.
What do you need?
- Be present in the United States.
- Testimonial and/or documentary evidence that the applicant’s life is in danger.
- Honest and good faith request.
- The necessary documentation and/or evidence will depend on the type of personal case of each individual.
